Lottery boost for Haslam Park

Print

£10,000 of National Lottery money is to be spent on Haslam Park. A sensory garden is to be created with the money.

Haslam Park

The garden will contain a number of plants and objects will will encourage visitors to use their senses. Bamboo will be used to provide a sound when the wind blows; some plants will be chosen which release a special aroma when touched and others will have a special texture.

The new garden will have wide paths to facilitate access with prams and wheelchairs. Work will begin on the new park area around Easter time. It is estimated that the work will take around six months.
